FLYING FASCINATION

There is now a sister model for the VLA Katana DA 20. In Wiener Neustadt, Austria, Diamond Aircraft ist working hard on the flight tests of the fourseater Katana DA 40. The DA 40 is designed for training and touring.
 

The TL 96 Star from TL Ultralight, Czech Republic, seems more a VLA than an Ultralight. The cockpit shows a very narrow relation to that of the Katana and Dimona.
 

German aerobatic champion Klaus Schrodt on a training flight in his Extra 300S. The two big events this year aerobatic pilots have to train for are the European and the World Championships.
 

Gliderfield Bückeburg, west of Hannover, upside down. In the first two weeks of June it's the place of the German Gliding Championships of the standard and racing class. At the same time the glider pilots of open and 18 m class will compete in Mengen, south of Stuttgart.
